Our History
RV America traces its roots back to 1979. It
was in this year that Ray Benyo pursued an appointment with Foremost
Insurance Company. Although Ray had a thriving commercial insurance
organization called Parkwood Insurance Agency, he saw the value
of RV insurance, and began to book RV policies immediately. In 1983
Ray Benyo also pursued, and gained, an appointment with Progressive
Insurance Company.
Several years later in 1987, Paul Bender joined Parkwood
Insurance Agency. He was given the task of developing the RV department,
and immediately set to work building relationships with RV dealers
in the western United States. In 1992 Paul purchased Parkwood Insurance
and restructured the RV department in an effort to become a leader
in the RV insurance industry. In 1995 the name of the agency was
changed to RV America Insurance Mktg., and the new corporation was
soon licensed in 48 states.
In January of 1997 a dynamic partnership was formed
when Paul partnered with Steve Freedman. Steve - a veteran from
the retail industry - has been primarily responsible for building
RV America's dealership affiliations. Now, just four years since
the partnership was formed, RV America is the leading provider of
insurance through RV dealerships nationwide.
